Getting your 10.000 steps a day.
So last week i gave you tips on losing weight the healthy way. And i mentioned my goal was to walk 10.000 steps a day. No i do not reach my goal every day. But at the end of the week i make sure it says 70.000 steps walked in my Garmin app. So it depends of your lifestyle and job what you walk in a normal day. I work in a store selling cosmetics. So i stand/walk at least 7 hours a day. If you have an office job this will be much less. So i will give you easy and practical tips today.
Collect al your shoes in one place. From flipflops till gym shoes. And only keep the ones that fit like glove. Any shoes that are in any way uncomfortable toss them out. For every one this is differed. I know woman that kan run a marathon in high heels and others that break an leg with just a kitten heel.
Get a tracker to see how much you walk. Other wise you will never know.
Walk at work. Need to ask your college something that is on the other side of the building? Don’t send a email but walk him/her. This is even efficient in the long run as well. A email you can ignore easy but a person at your desk not so much.
Take public transportation to get around. This way you walk to and from your destination.
Take the stairs always. Oke, at least half of it. If you work on the tenth floor, start slow with one floor at the time. Because you go higher it will take more muscle strength than normal walking. Train yourself. And stop using those escalators.
Walk around when you get a phone call. Unless you still have a phone with a cord on it 😉 This is always possible at work, outside or home.
Get out one stop earlier with public transportation or park the car as far away on the parking lot.
Make a walk around the park/block. Easy way to clear your mind as well. If you feel uncomfortable to just walk. Put on some headphones
Walk to get lunch or groceries by walking to the store.
Of course there are many more options like walking the dog at least twice a day. Because not everyone has a dog. I did not mention it.
