Okay, you have Harry Potter fans, and you have Harry Potter fans. And thank god for those hard potterheads, because they made a film with their own hands that takes the term ‘fan fiction’ to a whole new level. The Harry Potter prequel Voldemort: Origins of the Heir is on YouTube and HP fans really have to watch it.
With eight Harry Potter films, a new Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them series of films and the Pottermore online community you would say that HP fans have enough material for life. Is not. Fans can never get enough of the world that J.K. Rowling once created.
What Potterheads have needed for years is a book or film about the life of Harry Potters parents or Voldemort. Fans therefore decided to take matters into their own hands.
They contacted Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling for permission (which they got!), Started a crowdfunding campaign for money and started filming. Gianmara Pezzato took over the direction and Stefano Prestia served as executive producer. The result: a 53-minute (free!) Film that deals with the life of Voldemort.
The protagonist in the film is a new invented character: Grisha McLaggen. She is the heiress of Goderic Gryffindor, one of the founders of Hogwarts. She sat together with Voldemort, who is still known under the name Tom Marvolo Riddle, at the College for Witchcraft and Hocus-Pocus. Grisha decides to start a manhunt on the dark wizard, because he has killed someone.
My opinion. So after watching this fan made movie. I want another Harry Potter movie. The makers have done a great job with it. Or course if you directly compare the original one with this one the special effects are less. But still its free and fan-made. I only want to push the makers to make more and longer!
